Opening Prayer
Begin with a prayer to set the tone for the session and invite God’s presence and guidance.
Example Prayer:

Relevant Scripture Readings
Select key passages from the sermon manuscript to create a focused Bible study.
Scripture Readings:
1. Deuteronomy 31:7 - Moses encourages Joshua.
2. Joshua 1:1-9 - God’s instructions to Joshua.
3. James 1:22 - Being doers of the Word.
Discussion Topics and Questions
Break down the sermon’s main points into discussion-friendly topics and questions.
Discussion Topic 1: Leadership Transition and Challenges
Question: How did God prepare Joshua for leadership after Moses? What can we learn about handling transitions in our own lives?
Discussion Topic 2: Strength and Courage
Questions:
- Why is strength and courage emphasized repeatedly in Joshua’s story?
- How can we cultivate these qualities in our spiritual journeys?
Discussion Topic 3: Faith and Obedience
Questions:
- What is the relationship between faith, obedience, and success as highlighted in Joshua 1:8?
- In what areas of your life do you struggle to trust God fully?
Discussion Topic 4: Global Mission and Divine Guidance
Question: How does God’s promise to expand their territory relate to His call for us to broaden His reach today?
Follow-Up Exercise
Encourage participants to apply what they’ve learned through a practical activity during the week.
Exercise:
- Choose one command or teaching from the Bible to focus on obeying this week. Journal about your experience and any challenges or insights you encounter.
- Memorize Joshua 1:9 and reflect on how it applies to your daily life.
Closing Prayer
Conclude by thanking God for the insights gained and asking for His continued guidance.
Example Prayer:
"Lord, we are grateful for the examples of faith and obedience found in Your Word. As we go through our week, help us to embody the strength and courage Joshua displayed. Guide us in all our decisions and grant us the wisdom to follow Your will. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen."
